Peace Begins with Me

Here’s a poem that I began writing in my head during a sound bath tonight:

Through the scattered clutter, through the forest and the trees,

I see me.

Lasting impact from others, and from me.

Through the lows and valleys, through the peaks and highs,

and in the middle where the bees hum,

down into the deep deep darkness, where the smallest light is known,

down in the deep heavy darkness, that isn’t without the smallest light for long.

Down to the ocean, the waves roar with rage,

enveloping my screaming.

The rain drowning my crying, until the weight begins to lift.

The darkness disappating, remaining present with the light.

Both can exist at the same time on this shore I’ve known all my life.

Navigating the trails, the ebbs, and flows,

peace begins with me.
